Piyali Sircar
Piyali is a design researcher who pushes the boundaries of what research looks and feels like by incorporating generative and participatory methods into her practice, always centering the humanity and experiences of participants. As a Lead Researcher at Artefact, Piyali helps clients think critically and expansively about the people they are designing for and the responsibilities of their organizations.
With a degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, Piyali began her career at L.E.K. Consulting, working in tandem with R&D engineers at pharmaceutical and medical device companies before getting her Master’s in Design for Interaction from TU Delft. Prior to joining Artefact Piyali worked in-house as a UX researcher at One Drop, a diabetes management company, after spending a couple years at Bionic, an innovation consultancy (now Accenture).
When she’s “off the clock” Piyali is hip-hop dancing, tufting rugs, attempting to grow plants and exploring the city of Philadelphia with her partner.
